This was a short course with valuable information. Please know it took years to develop your habits and so it takes time to make new habits. Please enjoy playing with the information. Knowing how your body is designed to move offers you new ways to move it around. Ways that are more in tune with your design. When we work with design we are efficient. It's like driving in the appropriate gear.

This not about exercise, although you can apply it to exercise or anything you do. This is about doing LESS, not more, so body performs well. It's using less energy and muscle effort to do the things you do everyday.

Movement is medicine. A phrase currently being shared as a soundbite to encourage people to move for better health.  But HOW do I move? How do I sit and stand? How do I walk and run?

On the four Thursdays in May 2017, starting on May 4th, we will look at
1. (4/5)The basics of human movement design
2. (11/5) Standing and Sitting as dynamic activitiesinstead ofstatic traps and tension builders.
3. (18/5) Walking - The momentum of our design. and direction of our activity. Exploring up as well as forward.
4. (25/5) Reflection - What comes up and is in the way? In activities, in thinking. What are the habits we want to get away from? How can we do it?

On this short course you have a good practicalintroduction, or revisit if you are coming back to AT, to the principles of Alexander's discoveries and how you can apply them to YOURSELF to make your own discoveries. The design of movement does not change as fashions do and this will always work for you.
